ABOUT SKINNYGIRL

Author, natural foods chef and television personality Bethenny Frankel has been making healthy food taste delicious for years. Cooking started as a hobby, and with formal training, quickly developed into a passion. Frankel attended the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts, where she focused on how she wanted to share her food knowledge and enthusiasm for healthy living. Her knack for making health accessible has elevated her to national prominence as a celebrated natural food chef, the creator of the phenomenal Skinnygirl Margarita, and a New York Times best selling author.
Frankel's wit, wisdom and humor first came to national attention when she was named first runner-up on NBC's The Apprentice: Martha Stewart. Network executives saw a personality they couldn't ignore and put her center stage weekly on Bravo's hit series The Real Housewives of New York. She emerged as the star of the series, which led to her 2010 spin-off Bethenny Getting Married?. The premiere had the highest ratings of any series debut in Bravo history with over 2 million viewers. She is currently shooting a second season of her Bravo show, Bethenny Ever After, to premiere early in 2011, and competing on Skating with the Stars live each week on ABC.
Frankel shares her recipes, tips, thoughts and more through many different mediums, including two New York Times Best Sellers, Naturally Thin (2009) and The Skinnygirl Dish (2010). The Skinnygirl Dish showcases Frankel's renowned "fix-ology" - her gift of taking calorie-rich foods and making them over to create healthier versions without compromising the taste. Frankel's third book, A Place of Yes: 10 Rules for Getting Everything You Want Out of Life, is due out in March 2011.
As the creator of the widely successful Skinnygirl Margarita, a bottled, pre-mixed 100-calorie beverage made with clear tequila, Frankel plans to expand the line to other cocktails and beverages using her "fixologist" formula.
As the go-to writer for all things reality and lifestyle, Frankel wields her pen like a sword, ensuring that readers will get the unvarnished truth, along with common sense, expertise and an always-healthy dose of humor. Appearing regularly on The Today Show, as well as on the pages of Health Magazine and People Magazine, she is on a mission to democratize healthy living, making information available to everyone she can reach.
Frankel currently resides in New York City with her husband Jason, daughter Bryn and dog Cookie.
